Why do so many people want to feature on podcasts?
Statistics show a yearly increasing amount of individuals and businesses making use of featuring on podcasts as a guest. This marketing platform is very low-threat and opens up a virtual stage to speak to a laser-focused audience who very likely to be interested in what you have to say or offer. That is why so many are leveraging this new way of marketing and branding.
What kind of Podcasts would I be able to speak on?
With so many different genres and categories of Podcasts it opens up a world of diverse opportunities for you to feature as a guest and to share your expertise and story. During our signup process, we request that you specify some of the categories and niches of the podcasts you would like to feature on. Our role is to reach out to these specific shows and present you with the best opportunities.
I don’t have a professional microphone or audio experience, is this a problem?
Not at all, many podcasts are recorded with a laptop mic or a cellphone, some of the higher Tier podcasts might require you to invest in a professional microphone and our team is well equipped to assist you with choosing an affordable microphone and guiding you on how to set it up and get the best audio setup.
I’ve never featured as a guest on podcasts, would you be able to book me on my first podcast?
Of course, we’ve worked with many new and inexperienced podcast guests and we’ll nurture and provide you with all the material and guidance you’ll need to prepare you for your first few interviews.
What if I already have my own Podcast? Would other hosts want to interview me?
Yes, many of our clients also have their own successful podcasts. Featuring as a guest on another show is a great way of cross-pollinating audiences in a non-threatening way.
My social media following is relatively small, is this a dealbreaker?
Some higher Tier podcasts might consider this a prerequisite but there are many who would disregard social media following if they enjoy your message or value what you have to offer to their audience as an expert or authority in your field. If you would like to boost your social media following in hopes of appealing to higher Tier podcasts, we can provide this service to you as a value add.
Would speaking on podcasts help grow my social media following?
Yes, if an audience relates to you or enjoys an episode you featured on you’ll organically gain new followers. Remember to mention your social media handles and ask people to follow you as you share more valuable content on your social media pages. Two strong reasons why people listen to Podcasts are to be educated or to be entertained, if you can provide both of these you’ll increase the likelihood of listeners following you.
I’m on a Podcast Directory, how is your service different?
The majority of Podcasts and hosts have many prospective guests reaching out to them and they don’t have the need to search for guests on a directory. We offer a premium service in which we actively reach out to Podcasts with a professional and personalized approach. This results in more opportunities (and higher quality shows) as it is a more direct approach.
How will you represent me and my brand?
We make a conscious effort to understand your branding needs of speaking on the right podcasts and to represent you with our modern and professional Podcast Interview Profiles. At any time you may request to see the emails or other types of submissions we do on your behalf and we are always open to your feedback and suggestions.

What is the ROI of speaking on podcasts?
The podcast guesting marketing model works great for many businesses and individuals to gain exposure but it is difficult to lock in a specific number as there are many variables. Each individual will experience different ROIs based on the Tier size show they speak on and how well they engage with the audience during their interview. We’ll provide an estimated reach for each opportunity based on a Tier and preparational material to help you get the best ROI out of each engagement. Our estimated reach algorithm is based on data gathered from extensive research and we like the saying “content is king” so the ball ends up in your court and your ROI will strongly depend on how well you present yourself as a guest.
Podcast Credits
How do Podcast Credits work?
Each month your account will be credited with an amount of Podcast Credits depending on which Subscription Package you selected. Each podcast we book you on will reserve a certain amount of credits based on the podcast’s tier and estimated reach. Once the interview is completed, your reserved credits will be deducted from your account.
How do I purchase Podcast Credits?

How can I view my account and Podcast Credits balance?
Once you sign up, you instantly gain access to your own personal account on our website. You can log in and view your account at any time to see your subscription details, payment history, and more.
Once your dashboard is ready, you’ll see a new button on your account home page called “Dashboard”. On your dashboard, you can view your Podcast Credits balance, the history of confirmed bookings, upcoming interviews, and more. From here you’ll also be able to view each show’s Tier and the cost of each opportunity in Podcast Credits.
What happens if my Podcast Credits go in arrears?
If you accept a Podcast that leaves your account in a deficit, you can either wait for your next recurring payment to settle your account, or you can purchase additional Podcast Credits at $3 per podcast credit. The advantage of the former is that you can still budget for the same monthly amount even if we land a top-tier podcast opportunity for you. The advantage of the latter is that you don’t miss out on any new opportunities that may arise.
What happens if my Podcast Credits aren’t used up by the end of the month?
If you end the month with a surplus amount of Podcast Credits they carry over to the following month. In other words, the Podcast Credits you’ll receive from your next monthly recurring payment will be added to your existing amount.
Will my Podcast Credits ever expire?
Not at all, even if you cancel your subscription your Podcast Credits will remain in your account which can be redeemed through further Podcast Bookings.
Are there any penalties that would affect my Podcast Credits?
Yes, if an agent provides you with an opportunity and they don’t receive a response within 4 working days (96 hours), 1 Podcast Credit will be debited from your Account for every day a response is delayed. This penalty will not exceed the number of Podcast Credits of the show’s Tier worth. This penalty can be avoided by notifying your agent in advance of dates during which you will be unable to communicate. This is In order to protect our best interest since we’ve lost many opportunities from waiting too long to respond. Podcast hosts have limited slots available and they prefer to book their guests far in advance.
Tier System
How is the tier of each podcast calculated?
Our tiers are determined by the amount of reach we estimate you’ll receive from a single episode on a particular podcast. Our estimated reach algorithm is based on publically available stats and uses real data gathered from podcasts when calculating the average estimated reach per episode.
We worked closely with a selected group of over 50 Podcasts who shared their statistics and demographics with us in confidentiality. With this information, we were able to design the first-ever podcast tier system that calculates the estimated reach you’ll receive from a single interview on a particular show.
Most other podcast agencies who offer a sliding scale, base their prices on figures such as social media size but our data shows that there is rarely a correlation between a show’s social media size and its actual monthly downloads. The more data we gather, the more our Tier System improves to give you an accurate estimated reach per tier.
You are always welcome to question the Tier of any show we’ve acquired for you. We cannot reveal the full details of our algorithm but if you query a presented opportunity, we can highlight some of the main contributing factors that attribute to that particular show’s Tier.
Is it worth speaking on a low Tier podcast?
Absolutely, lower Tier podcasts generally offer a longer promotional cycle, compound listeners over time, and usually have a more highly focused niche, giving you a more laser-focused audience. Furthermore, because you receive backlinks to your website and social media from each podcast’s show notes, guesting on numerous smaller shows will improve your SEO more than guesting on e.g. one big show. And with smaller shows costing you fewer Podcast Credits, there’s no reason not to take advantage of the benefits that small shows have to offer.
Lastly, if you’re new to podcast interviews, it’s also a great way of building up your portfolio before approaching higher Tier podcasts.
Why do higher Tier podcasts cost so many Podcast Credits?
The top Tier podcasts are generally very particular on who they interview on their show and the acquisition of these opportunities requires a lot of prerequisites to fulfill and red tape to cross. The industry-standard fee of a 60-second podcast advertisement is approximately $30 per 1000 listens on a top-tier show. If you were to feature as a guest for 20-30 minutes on a Tier 12 podcast with 60,000 average downloads per episode, this opportunity would be well worth the Podcast Credit cost.
What Tier podcast would I be able to speak on?
At the start, we’ll reach out to a good balance of low, mid, and high Tier podcasts in order to test the waters, once you receive invitations and opportunities we’ll nurture and guide you to speak on higher Tier podcasts once we have determined and gauged the average Tier podcasts wanting to interview you.
Do higher Tier podcasts charge a fee to feature a guest?
Yes, some Podcasts charge a fee for this but we’ve implemented a value-added service called a ‘Sponsor Fund’ in order to help you absorb the cost of these shows. We will also always negotiate on your behalf and advise you on whether a certain paid opportunity is worth your while or not. Our aim and passion is to book our clients on the top Tier podcasts. Our Tier system is designed to discount cost-per-reach for higher tier podcasts and we understand that high tier opportunities are costly as well as rare, that’s why we go the extra mile.
What if Podcast Connection doesn’t meet my quota and my credits pile up after a number of months?
In the event that we’re not able to fulfill your quota, it’s not necessarily a bad thing. There are many variables to consider and some are unfortunately out of our control. In this wonderful industry, there is a constant ebb and flow, we cannot predict the size of podcasts that accept our clients as candidate guests on any given month. However, we’ve learned that a high-tier opportunity always comes through eventually. If we’re not able to land you a high-tier show for 2-3 consecutive months, the credits transferred and accumulated in your account will fund the big opportunity when it eventually comes through. Each month will uniquely present different opportunities.
For these reasons, it’s not a bad idea to have some excess Podcast Credits in your account, especially if you’re subscribed to a lower package. You can also rethink your budget or marketing strategy at any time by upgrading or downgrading your subscription package, or canceling your subscription altogether if you’re not happy with our service level.
Payments
How do payments work?
When you sign up with a subscription package, the amount is automatically debited on a monthly recurring basis. The Podcast Credits associated with the Subscription Package you chose are credited to your account upon each successful payment.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes. You may cancel at any time provided that your account is not in arrears. The Podcast Credits remaining in your account may be redeemed by further confirmed bookings.
To cancel, log in to your account, then scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. At the very bottom left you’ll see “CANCEL ACCOUNT”. Click on this link and follow the instructions.
Can I buy extra credits in addition to my subscription package?
Yes. You may purchase additional Podcast Credits at any time at the cost of $3 per credit.
Can I pay with a credit card?
Yes. Simply select the option “Pay with a Bank Account or Credit Card” at the PayPal checkout screen. You can also quickly and easily link your credit card to your PayPal account and pay via credit card through PayPal. It takes less than 5 minutes to link a card once, and future payments are then much faster and easier compared to entering your card details manually.
If you don’t want to register a PayPal account, choosing the “Pay with a Bank Account or Credit Card” option will allow you to pay without registering a PayPal account. We do, however, recommend linking your card with a PayPal account as it’s free, quick, and easy to set up. PayPal is the most widely trusted and used payment gateway in the world. We currently only accept payment using PayPal.
Do you have a money-back policy?
Yes we do. If you’re not satisfied with our service, you can request a refund within 30 days and we’ll pay you back (in cash) for any remaining unused Podcast Credits at $3 per Credit in your account.
INTERVIEW Cancellations
What happens if a podcast host cancels my interview?
Once you’ve accepted a show and we have a date & time for your interview, then we reserve Podcast Credits for that show but it does not leave your account. The credits are only debited once the interview is successfully completed. Therefore, you won’t lose any credits if a show cancels since the credits would not have left your account.
We will liaise with the host and do our best to get a new date & time confirmed. If we can’t get another confirmed booking and the opportunity is lost, your reserved credits will remain in your account and revert to your available balance.
What happens if I need to cancel reschedule an interview?
We spend plenty of time and resources getting podcast opportunities before they hit your inbox. If you need to cancel or reschedule your interview, we will do our very best to ensure that this happens but unfortunately, we do still debit the Podcast Credits from your account if the interview cannot be rescheduled. Some hosts are very reluctant to reschedule an interview once the guest cancels on them once, and we as a business also weaken our relationship with hosts when our clients cancel. In order to protect our best interest and to ensure fewer cancellations by clients, we need to have this policy in place.
Please always do your best to do give as much advance notice to the host as possible if something urgent comes up. 11th hour cancellations are much more likely to result in a lost opportunity.
